Authentic Maharashtrian Crab Curry (Khekda Rassa) Recipe
Experience the rich and spicy taste of Maharashtrian Crab Curry of coastal Maharashtra with our traditional Konkani-style crab curry. Made with freshly caught crabs and homemade masala, this dish is a seafood lover’s delight.
Ingredients:

1 kg fresh crab, cleaned and cut

2 onions, finely chopped

1 cup grated coconut
-
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
-
2 tsp red chili powder
-
1 tsp turmeric
-
1 tbsp garam masala (or kala masala)

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander for garnish

2 tbsp oil
Instructions:

Roast coconut and onions in a pan until golden brown. Grind to a fine paste.

In a deep pan, heat oil and sauté ginger-garlic paste.

Add chopped onions and cook until soft.

Mix in all the dry spices and stir for a minute.

Add ground masala paste and cook until oil separates.

Add crabs and coat them well with the masala.

Add water, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Garnish with coriander and serve hot with steamed rice or bhakri.
