Malvani Prawns Gravy Recipe (Kolambi Rassa)
Ingredients:
- 500g fresh prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tsp Malvani masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala (optional)
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Roast coconut until golden. Cool and grind to a paste.
- Heat remaining oil, add chopped onions and fry till golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
- Add prawns, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the ground coconut paste and Malvani masala. Mix and cook for 5–6 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup water, cover and cook for another 5 minutes.
